A Case Study – Ticket Sales

Challenge:
Fill ships in two different ports during traditionally slow weekend before Christmas.

Solution:
Run highly targeted “traffic” campaigns on Facebook and Instagram.

Background: Traditionally slow before Christmas
Casino cruises offer 5-hour cruises out of two ports of call.  Traditionally the week before Christmas is very slow for the ships.  To fill the voyages, a targeted campaign was implemented two weeks prior to the sailing.

Process: Targeting & Messaging
We opted to run a Facebook campaign targeted to specific zip codes around where the ship was docked. In addition, we layered on targeting to Adults 40-65, with an income high enough to allow for disposable dollars.  Gaming and Day Trips were included as behavioral factors.  To keep the message fresh, ads were updated with new images every couple days. 

We continuously monitored delivery and actions on the ads and adjusted to the best performers.

Results: Sailings were full!

18% of the target audience was reached with a Casino cruiseline message.  More than 9,000 users went to the client registration page, 6,500 continued talking about the offer in Facebook, with 159 sharing the offer with friends and asking them to go.
